Background:
A blend is created by mixing several coffees. In the process, roasters experiment with the proportions and taste a lot to achieve the best flavor results. In our opinion, this organic blend of Colombia Kachalu, with a touch of Sumatra Ketiara for more body, worked out well! Delicious as an espresso, and with milk it tastes "like a liquid bonbon.
Colombia Kachalu Organic
The Kachalu farmers' organization includes about 60 small coffee farmers working together in the Santander region, in northeastern Colombia. The organization was founded in 1999, making it one of the first projects of the Colombian coffee farmers' organization FNC. Their main objective is to grow organic coffee, focusing on care for the rainforest and a fair coffee price for individual farmers. BOOT Coffee has been working with this cooperative since 2005.
Indonesia Sumatra Organic Buana Mandiri Espresso - Temporarily in the range
Buana Mandiri is temporarily part of our range. Not because we wanted to change anything but because circumstances demanded it. Our Ketiara coffee sold out faster than expected and a major disaster in Sumatra delayed the supply. Rather than compromise on quality, we opted for a suitable interim solution.
As a cooperative, Buana Mandiri provides structure, support and joint quality control. Working together, farmers can invest in better processing and stronger trading relationships. In a region where infrastructure can be vulnerable and natural forces sometimes strike unexpectedly, this joint approach is essential. Especially in such circumstances, it shows how important long-term relationships and mutual trust are.
