Juan Peña has become synonymous with excellence in Ecuadorian coffee. He has been growing and producing coffee since 2009, since then expanding his purview at Hacienda La Papaya to include land from a cooperative group of nine landowners.

In Saraguro, nestled in the Andean mountain range, Juan Peña has perfected a soil monitoring system that allows them to purposefully irrigate the entirety of Hacienda La Papaya, integrating customized fertilization with irrigation to nurture each tree to perfect health.

Looking toward the future, he keeps an extensive nursery to regenerate existing plots and to begin growing new varieties.
